In this rapidly changing world, various genres of books have been discovered. This calls into question what kind of books can be beneficial for people to read. While some people argue that reading personal books is advantageous as they grant indirect experiences, I firmly believe that it is wiser to read fictional books. The rationale behind this is that they will help one to think more creatively. In addition, they will help people to improve their reading skills.
First and foremost, creativity can be given to readers if they read fictions. This is largely because as situations in those books are not real, this makes people to take into account more about the situations, the atmospheres and environments of the stories. This can assist students in a variety of ways such as in their English class, as they read a myriad of novels. According to some clinical studies, as most of people live a different life, the influences that come from the real story books do not help people as much as fiction does. However, by getting experiences from fictional novels, this can greatly give positive effects as people can build creativity and this is one of the most crucial objects that people should retain. Likewise, there are more benefits that can be gained from fictional stories than real events books.
On top of that, people can develop their reading skills by reading fictions. This is not only because people can concentrate better, but also they can imagine and visualize through their head. These are the factors that great readers possess. From my personal experience, whenever I read biography of historical people, it did not give me much of interest, because they often just describe their life and I am living in a different world from them. However, fiction books stimulated me a lot as they usually illustrate future which I can face later on. Moreover, for this reason I could concentrate more and visualize the world that I will live in the future. These effects supported me to become a great reader and now I started to favor almost all types of books. Had it not been for fictions, I would not have been able to find interests in books.
In short, the advantages of fictional books far outweigh the benefits of non-fiction books. The reasons are that they help people to build creativity and also improve their reading skills. Therefore, I believe it is better to start reading fictions first and then read real life books. |
