It is often argued that people with different interests or personalities cannnot be friends. Even though the jury is still out. I strongly agree with the statement. The rationale behind this is that conflicts can be made if people hold different interests. Moreover, people may have diffculty in sharing ideas.
First, people may argue each other. In other words, even though some argue that conflict can also be made when people have a great amount of things in common, it is more justifiable to contend that arguments are frequently occured when people have different opinions. For example, according to the Korea National Research Center, there is a strong correlation between fighting and breaking up a relationship. Not surprisingly, this sufficiently justifies it is pretty difficult for people to have good relationships if they have different personalities. The underlying cause of this is identified to be the fact that whatever they want to do, they face problems on the grounds that their opinions can never be the same so they end up meeting fight. Therefore, this clearly indicates how crucial people should find someone who have the same interest and personalities.
Additionally, people may not share their idea if they have opposite interest and personalities. Take the case of me for illustration. I met James back in University. As we choose the same major and lived in a similar area, we could have a lot of chances to talk. However, we could not have very close relationship due to the fact that he liked rock music which I hated most. However, I met Zack since I was young. Even though we lived in a totally different area and hard to see one another, we have been having a healthy relationship because we shared our interests, classical music. Consequently, this again is a clear indication for why sharing interest is crucial to maintain a friendship.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly believe that having different interests or personalities is bad to build a strong relationship. The reasons are not only that conflicts are readily made, but also that sharing idea is almost impossible. Therefore, these are the two most convincing reasons for my contention.
