If possible, everybody wants several long vacations. The length of vacation depends on a the system of a school regarding how they operate semesters: some universities have a long summer vacation due to having two semesters in one year, and other universities have several short breaks between quarter semesters. While some people argue that it is a better idea to graduate as soon as possible by focusing school work at the school with quarter semesters, personally, I like one long vacation for each year. My rationales behind this are like these; our brain and body can work effectively after a long vacation, and we can spend a vacation to improve our knowledge.
To begin with, we need to take an enough rest to concentrate on for concentrating complicated work, physically and mentally. In other words, we are exhausted after one semester which is required requires us to concentrate and be nervous with various assignments and exams. For example, I always had lower grades in a spring semester which was followed by a short winter break than the grades I received in a fall semester after a long summer vacation. Due to lack of my mental and physical energy, I should could not concentrate on my works regardless of the amount of time I spent. Our brain and body need time to be refreshed through a process called a vacation.
Furthermore, students need time for examining what they have learned previously and gaining adding up extra knowledge for future developments. During a vacation, we not only can not only take a rest but also can extend our knowledge. Specifically, when I was a university student, I usually spend used to spent my summer vacation to study English or another subjects I was what I am interested in. In addition, I took a time for understanding some concepts which I already learned, but I did not have time to study during the an antecedent semester. Without free lengthy time from time to go over regular course works, I could not have achieved my relatively high GPA score.
In the light of all these circumstances, a lengthy vacation is more ideal than frequent short ones. Frequent vacations are good in some reasons, but one long vacation is perfect for taking a rest and achieving solid knowledge for future success.
