These days many people usually get information in many ways. However I agree that people should get information from different news sources for two reasons. First, some news media such as newspapers are biased. Secondly, Internet help people can share their ideas or experiences about the information.
Most of all,. Some news article shows how biased newspapers are. Contraversy surrounding Tibet and China can be an example. Tibet has fought for their independence from China and there were some violent clashes between them. Newspapers were completely spilt over the conflicts when they covered them. Some papers advocate Tibet’s independence movement and their article only critical for China. They posted photos of riot police who were cracking down on protestors in a violent way. In contrast, other papers defended China and criticized that Tibetan demonstrates harmed innocent Chinese citizens. Some of their pictures described angry protestors who set fire houses and stores. On the other hand, TV debates programs touched on conflicting views from both side at the same time on a balanced way. Professors and experts from different fields appeared on TV and debates on the issue from different perspectives. This allows viewers to get informed and form their own opinion.
Secondly, people can share their ideas on the internet. Last week, I went on Google to buy some toys for one of my nieces. Before going online, I expected online search to save me time and energy. However, I spent my whole day wading through numerous shopping malls and advertisements. As a solution to this problem, I logged on some websites where customers share their shopping experiences. Some posted their complaints about the quality and safety of their toys. As I was fully informed about shopping malls and products, I was able to shop smart.
In conclusion, I agree that people should get information from different news sources for the two reasons that I have mentioned above.
