On the other hand, the professor asserts whether the factors such as attendance, participation, and student effort are effective. The professor discuss there are both advantages and disadvantages in the lecture and she think that those are not good for evaluation.
First, in the reading passage, attendance should be considered to be an important factor, as evaluation segment. However, the professor disagrees with this opinion. That is because attendance doesn’t guarantee learning. The reason is that students will come to class, sleeping or day-dreaming, so they don’t pay attention to classes. Moreover, attendance doesn’t mean learning more. For example, students can be sick or their family can be in emergency condition. So, they can fail to study knowledge. In these reasons, the professor asserts attendance cannot be crucial factor.
Secondly, in the reading passage explanation, participation can improve the overall quality of the classes, with students learning knowledge. On the other hand, the professor asserts the participation cannot be a main evaluation factor. That is because students want to get the better performance by doing anything. This will decrease the quality of the class, and adversely, increase superficiality. In addition to, the professor gives the proposal that the teacher asks the question to students. And students obtain the knowledge. In these reasons, the professor, insists that participation is not an important factor for assess.
Third, in the reading passage explanation, student effort which is related to learning should be assessed. However, the professor thinks that effort is not crucial factor. That is because students don’t actually challenge courses. And they can’t pretend effort challenging, not doing their best. In these reason, the professor don’t agree the student effort cannot be crucial factor. |
