It is often said wheather it is appropriate to give the same amount of money to their students' sports activities as they fund to their university libraries or not. Although some people may disagree with the statement that university spend money on sports activities, I firmly believe that spending the same amount of money to the students' sports activities as they spend their money on their libraries are needed for the further studnets' development. My view can be greatly substantiated by the reason addressed below.
First of all, investing money to each facilities must be balanced. In other words, there are people whose their major is related to sports and there are other people whose their major is related to study. Both students are paying same tuition fee to learn what they want and to achieve their goals. However, if university pay more attention to libraries facilities and if sports facilities are poor enough that do not provide good enviroment for the students whose their major is related to a sport, than it is not fair.
Secondly, sports are healthy for the students mentally and physically. To put it again, there is something that we can gain from doing sports. Students from universities, who study hard, would have a lot of stress and pressure that they got from studying. However, it is hard to find the way out to release their stress out; thus, they would get sick mentally and physically. But doing sports by providing good environment and good facilities, students would recover their health and it would motivate students to study well.
In conclusion, as all students are paying same amount of money to the university, it must not pay attention to only one side but it need to balance well to individuals facilities and there are benefits that students can gain only from doing sports; thus, I believe that university should give the same amount of money to the sport activities as they do to libraries. |
