There is an ongoing debate over whether becoming a leader is better than becoming a follower. Some people might suggest that being a follower is better because employees are not feeling about maintaining the companies or countries. On the contrary, I strongly agree with that being a leader is better than being a follower. The fundamental reason behind this is that leaders can have more opportunities and good reputation.
First of all, leaders can more changes have great experiences than followers. This is largely because unlike employees whose living cost is dependent on monthly payment, leaders who are ranging from CEO to politician can accumulate a lot of money from their business, works, or invests money on stock or houses. With extra money, they can experienced more entertainments such as going to the travel whole world, eating the fanciest food, or attending private parties which are usually beyond common people's imagination. For example, my friend, Junhee whose father is House of Representative of Korea enjoyed special life. My friend regularly spent more than three thousand dollar to buy parses, jewelries and clothes, although she already owned ten of each. On top of that she went to Paris for every summer, winter and spring breaks because her family owned a pension over there and private planes. Compare with me, I had not even visited Europe before, but to my friend, it is not a problem to go there on monthly base.
Secondly, leaders can build up fame from public. An important reason behind is that while the followers work for their leaders and do not make a considerable decision, leaders are always face on to make an very important decisions and to try to spread out their belief such as emancipation of slavery, fighting for gaining freedom of African American and programming New deal policy for overcoming great depression which are great impact on the society. For example, President Lincoln who is the one of the greatest president in whole United State America’s history and declared freedom of African American from emancipation of slavery. Moreover, he tried to establish the idealist democratic country and shows his belief through the famous Gettysburg speech’s phrase, for the people, from the people, by the people. By his great leadership, many American always chose him as the favorite president.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that being a leader is always better than being a follower, because leader can have more chance to have great experiments and beloved by many people.
