Children obesity rates have been exponentially increasing over the past 50 years. Also, the number of children who are isolated from society have been increasing. This can be ascribed to the invention of the TV. TV causes numerous negative effects on children. Thus, I strongly support the statement which states that watching television is harmful for children.
To begin with, the number of children who suffer from obesity has remarkably increased because many children tend to watch shows on TV rather than doing physical activities. Furthermore, TV shows are highly addictive that children have no control when to stop watching TV. To illustrate this point, my sister has started watching tv shows as soon as she acquired a language. She enjoys watching TV so much that she is always glued to TV for "24/7." As a result, she is obese, she is only 7 years old ,but she weighs roughly 140 pounds. Since she is obese, her classmates make fun of her being "fat." She neither likes to talk to people nor has any friends to associate with. She seems to have no motivation to do other activities but to watch addicting TV.
Furthermore, TV could isolate children from the "real world" because children stay at home to watch TV. Thus, children naturally interact with others less than usual. Moreoever, it could result young children to have difficulties in adapting in social sitatuations due to the lack of interactions. From my personal experience, I have watched animation on TV and isolate myself from the "real world" because in society, everything is different from cartoons. Therefore, it was impossible for me to get adjusted to "real people." Not only that, I have led a secluded lifestyle, and have been isolated. It is still hard for me to assimilate into society. I always regret starting to watch TV.
I appreciate the problmes of watching TV, but unfortunately, I cannot even detach myself from TV. Thus, i personally think, children should not ever start watching TV unless they want to have a blurred future like mine.
