When people succeed, it is mainly because of hard work. Success, however is influenced by luck as well. We cannot say that important discoveries were made without luck. Similarly, singers and celebrities have benefitted from luck, to become famous. On the other hand, some people, despite their hard work, do not become successful. This also proves that luck is essential.
Above all, success does not solely depend on hard work. Discoveries can be made thanks to luck. For instance, Alexander Fleming discovered penicilin by accident. He made a chance discovery from an already discarded, contaminated petri dish. Of course, Fleming was a hard-working bacteriologist but he had not really "worked hard" to find penicillin, in such an unexpected way. This was pure luck.
Moreover, singers and celebrities benefit from luck. A female Korean Ophera singer was helped by luck, to climb the mountain of fame. When her colleague ophera singer was ill on the performance day, this lucky woman got the chance to substitute her. She was noticed by the public that day and became famous.
Thirdly, there are people who work arduously and still do not become successful. This proves that luck is definitely needed for a person to become successful. For example, coal miners who work without daylight or fresh air suffer a great deal and still gain no fame. There are also millions of actresses and actors who remain relatively unknown, despite their effort.
Overall, hard work pays off and brings you closer to success. Luck however, is crucial in making that success come true. For one, there were discoveries that profitted from luck. There are celebrities who suddenly became famous with a hint of luck. Then there are those unlucky people who work non-stop and yet without success. All these examples support that luck is somehow indispensable in making success come true. |
