From my perspective, I strongly disagree
with this idea that businesses should hire people for their entire lives for
the following reasons, in order to survive and increase efficiency.
First of all,
the ultimate goal of corporations is survive in competition.
Today’s
society, the fad technology is pretty fast and changeable that makes employers
to have a lot of considerations.
The problem
with this is that if the corporations could not follow technological issues
right away, they are going to out of business.
Therefore, if
they want to survive in harsh competition, employers pick up the workers who
were educated with brand new technologies that could not be learned to former
workers.
For example,
Samsung that is the most famous corporation in South Korea was used to produce
the electric home appliances. However, overtime, they have less profit from
electric home appliances because of china that have expense of the cheapest
labor charge. Therefore Samsung hires the number of new expertise about cell
phone and develops the field of mobile phone that continuously makes them
survive as one of the well-known company in the world.
Based on this
example, companies have flexibility about enterprise and employment.
In addition, it
detracts the companies’ efficiency.
It is often
said that corporations that want to succeed in their area have to go well with
their employees and offer the family like working environment cause developing
productivity.
However, job
stability makes employees feel bored and lose their not only concentration but
also responsibility.
So, for the
security of company, employers have to give some pressure such as laying offs.
According to
the study recently released by the Ministry of Labor of Korea show interesting
result that company of offering family like working environment or guarantee of
position has 46% business operation efficiency. However, the other company that
has lay off system has 72% business operation efficiency.
Based on this
study, a little pressure from company to employees elevates the company’s
productivity.
As a result,
hiring employees for their entire lives have a lot of risks to company thus, I
disagree with the question.
