There are a lot of controversy over whether the news media provides people with impartial and accurate imformation. When it comes to this issue, I have to disgree with it. Since news media tends to exaggrate some information to draw more attention, and provides distortions to make more profit from influential companies.
To begin with, I can definitely say that most of media try to make information sensational to attract viewers. In other words,They even wirte something that is not exact and have ever happened. Sometimes what they are doing actually impacts on people negatively. Here is a good example of this situation. I read some articles that say most of chinese reastuarants use what they have served over and over again to save their supply and money. As people see that information, they don't want to go to the chinese reasturants. It impacts on reasturants really much, and they have to close down their business since they don't earn enough money to continue there reasturant. But, later, the organization that thinks the articles was distorted information survey and find out only few percent of resturants reuse ther food.
On the top of that, corruption in the media have existed for a long time from past. Putting it differently, the news media is likely to provide viewer with biased and unaccurate information. It is related to its own stakeholders, such as politician and large company. For example, the sports product company gives particular news media a lot of money to write good articles about their products that are not even assured and haven't proved yet. News media just recieves suggestions to make more money. However, eventually it cause negative effect that people don't trust that media anymore.
All things considered, I firmly believe that the new media doesn't provide readers with exact and acurrate information. I think if the media wants to make more money, they need to give more unbiased and not distorted information rather than write sweet comments for a particular gruops. It will make people trust them, and they will have good supporters.
