It is often said that spending time alone is not the best way to relax because an activity planed by lots of people can create a more dynamic, enjoyable, and valuable experience, relieving stress more effectively. However, in my opinion, it is sometimes necessary to spend time alone for one's relaxation for two reasons: to truly relax without any worries of others, and to remind ourselves of who we truly are
To begin with, being alone brings one with peace away from the world, providing more comfortable time to reduce stress. This is because we are constantly surrounded by people who we have to please, such as pleasing your bosses, parents, or teachers. Thus, while enjoying our private time alone, we can really take a moment of peace without having to yield to others. For example, last week, when I went to the movies with my friends, I had to give up my choice for them. I wanted to watch a drama, but my friends wanted to see a horror film. Although I enjoyed being and hanging out with my friends, I could not help but feel a bit of disappointment. I kept thinking I would have been more happier with my choice. This shows that it would have been better for me to stay home and watch the drama alone.
In addition, by spending time alone, one can reflect on his or her days, sorting out some thoughts clearly. It is obvious that in this fast and competitive modern society, people are busy with their lives, such as working hard, studying for good grade, and taking care of one's family, which provides no time to think for themselves. When we are too wrapped up with our work, we sometimes forget what is really important to us. Therefore, having some private time to reflect on ourselves is crucial for a healthy mind, reorganizing and clearing out thoughts. For example, my sister used to be busy taking care of her family, going to work, and doing housework. Loaded with much of responsibilities, she never had time for herself and was not happy with her life. However, one day, she took a vacation alone, and realized that she is just a human-being and needs some time to treat herself well. This realization helped her take a good care of not only her children and family, but also herself as well.
In brief, being with others can not help you relax fully, rather distracts you with lots of problems, such as making arguments with your friends and living in hectic life. All in all, when it comes to taking a rest, it is better for today's people to become a couch potato at least just one day with no worries. |
