Although it is easy to think that people who earn a lot of money are sucessful, I believe that earning how much money does not necessarily determine one's successfulness. There are other factors that can decide whether one is successful besides money. Also, people have different point of views in defining successful. Thus, earning considerable amount of money does not always lead to sucessfulness.
To begin with, other factors than money can contribute to one's success. Although it is true that a number of people who earn a lot of money is regarded as successful, other factors such as health, intelligence, and achievements can also lead people to be successful. In particular, look into the life of mother Theresa. Mother Theresa gave many people hopes and helped them devoting her whole life. As a consequence, a number of people respect her and still remember her even to this day. In this regard, the life of mother Theresa can be seen as successful regardless of the amount of money she has earned. The amount of money one earns is merely one of the many elements that can determine one’s successfulness rather than the only one. Therefore, I disagree that only people who earns a lot of money are successful.
Also, people have different perspectives in defining success. Eventhough some might define being successful as earning a lot of money, others could define success as fulfilling their dreams. That is, although one earns a fortune, he or she may not be seen as successful. For instance, a business man who is highly paid might have a dream of getting a good score on TOEFL. In this case, the man’s definition of success would be achieving a good grade on the exam regardless of the amount of money he is paid. In order to make his dream come true, in other words, to become successful, the man should highly score on the exam. This does not necessarily require him to earn a lot of money but rather to endeavor to reach the goal. Dreams of some people do not relate to the amount of money they are paid but to fulfill their goals in other areas.
To conclude, many successful people around the world do earn a lot of money. However, it is not the money that made the people successful but the fulfillments of their long-desired dreams. Therefore, I believe that other factors than money can play the role of leading one to become successful.
