Some people may argue that movies aren't very related to a country. However, I have a different idea. When it comes to the statement that movies tell a lot about a country, I strongly have to agree with it. because I think movies represent not only cultures, but traditions of the country where they are made.
To begin with, a movie is a symbol of it's country's culture. In other words, it shows characteristics of the region, languages and musics. There is a great example supporting this idea. That is the Korean movie, "Spring days are going away". Characters in this movie go to look around rivers and fields to record natural sounds and every region in my country to interview residents of their daily lives.
Thus, I believe that we can see and understand the country while watching the movie.
In addition, the movie also represents traditions of the country. Putting it differently, it reflects the customs and traditions of its country showing the history and historic events.
For example, the movie "Im jin wae ran" is about the war between Korea and Japan during Joseon dynasty era. we can view and be aware of the society of Joseon by this movie.
To sum up, movies tell a lot about a country, because they represent their countries's cultures as well as traditions.
All thing considered, we will be able to learn about nations through thier movies. |
