Some people think that it is preferable to stay at one city or country to continue friendships with their old friends. However, in my opinion, moving to a new place can be a good opportunity and does not make you lose your old friends. This is because you can contact your friends constantly using various tools, and it is able to find the new chance of education or job in a new city or country. To begin with, one can continuously keep in touch with his or her old friends using a variety of communication tools. There are a lot of methods to contact such as e-mail, mobile phones, and Internet messengers. They provide you with an enough way for not losing your old friends. I would like to take the example of my own experience. I had to leave Yeosu where I have lived since I had been born, because I determined to attend a high school in Daegu. I worried about losing friends I made in elementary and middle school, because it takes approximately 4 hours by bus to go to Daegu from Yeosu. However, my concerns soon disappeared because I could keep in touch with them using cell phones and online messengers. Thus, I could make a promise to meet them, even though they lived far from where I stayed. This means that you do not have to worry about losing friendships due to a physical distance between you and your friends. On top of that, you can catch a new opportunity after moving to a new town. To be specific, you can enroll in a university you wanted to enter, make a new relationship with others, and be employed in a better job. Therefore, leaving where you have lived can be a great starting point to reach your dream. For instance, there was a poll conducted by Seoul National University with 300 people who have leaved their hometown as respondents. The main purpose of the survey was to understand the consensus view on the reason why they moved to another city or country. The majority of respondents claimed that they had gone to a new town in order to catch a better opportunity in their life. In detail, an overwhelming 73% had responded that they believe there should be more chances in a big city and developed country in respect of education and workplace, since there exist more schools which offer high-quality classes and more high-paying works. The result of this survey proves that it is worthwhile to leave where one has lived and start living in a new place. To sum up, diverse methods can provide ways for contacts with your old friends to you, and you can get a new opportunity in where you have never lived. In this regard, I firmly believe that you should not regret going to a new city or country. |
