▶ Your Answer : Nowadays, there is a long-standing
issue on whether we should spend the money that we earned right away or save
it. While it is undeniable that both options may have their own merits to boast,
I disagree with the given statement for several reasons as follows: first, we
need to spend money on experiencing activities which make our future better; and
second, maintaining good relationships with others requires investment
First and foremost, there are various
activities which are more meaningful when we experience those at younger age.
To elaborate, activities such as traveling, participating in a seminar or
education program, are much more important in early stage of our life. These
activities offer us opportunities to grow into more better person broadening
our perspectives and helping us find out our talents. Therefore, spending money
on these activities is more effective way to live a better future. than to just
put the money into bank account. As a case in point, a couple of years ago, I bought
an airline ticket bound for Washington, D.C. with the money I earned for the first
time doing a part time job. Traveling around the city, I was able to see many headquarters
of corporations and international organization. I realized that the world is
extremely wide and I had to be competitive internationally. This made me study
and work hard and eventually I could get a job with high salary. If it were not
my investment on traveling abroad, I couldn’t get such high paying job without
incentives to work and study hard. By looking this example, it becomes clear
that we should put adequate money into the activities which make us become a
better person.
What is more is that, money needs to be spent in order to maintain
relationships with others. To be specific, we need to be caring about friends
and family and sufficiently invest on the relationships with them so as to keep
the connections strong and healthy. This requires us to participate in various
events such as birthdays and parties and usually entails expenses such as
preparing presents. Since having good and stable relationships are
significantly essential for each of us to live a happy life, we need to use enough
money on them. For instance, I am still keeping in touch with my friends from
elementary school, meeting each other frequently until now. This is all
thanks to the celebrations of each other’s birthday, sending presents, showing
affection towards each other. This makes us feel that we are greatly cherishing
each other so helps us maintain such healthy and strong relationships. By looking
this example, it becomes evident that it is not always better to economize money
for money should be spent on maintaining relationships which we highly consider
precious to make our life satisfying.
Consequently, I do not agree with the
statement that it is always better to save money I earn rather than use it
quickly. This is because there are highly meaningful experiences to do in the
present which worth enough investment and maintaining decent relationships with
people around necessarily entails expenses. |
