In the reading passage, there is ample support for the author’s claim that moving reptiles is not viable conservation tool. However, the professor in the lecture gives several reasons as solutions to the author’s point. First, the professor contends that overpopulation can be dealt with by creating new habitation. For example, In UK, some experts relocated the reptiles to the sand, and they found that reptiles did not compete for food. In addition, when they put the artificial rocks in their new habitat, they could accommodate more reptiles. This is first solution that moving reptiles can cause overpopulation and sever competition. Next, the professor insists that people can avoid disease of the creature with a proper measurement. One study showed that infected reptiles were removed by snakes so that they didn’t spread the diseases. By exploiting snakes, people can solve this problem. This is second solution that relocation of reptiles makes the healthy reptiles to be ill. Finally, the professor argues that people can prevent the reptiles to be injured by using some methods. The hydration problem can be solved by pouring small water on the buckets. Moreover, dangerous situation can be prevented by using moss in the trap. This is final solution that relocation of reptile can be killed and captured by their predators.
