Some people might say that young people need exercise more than the elderly.
However, in my opinion, old people have inevitable reason to exercise more than young people. There are two main assertions to make my point. First, most of older people are physically weaker than most of young people. Second, the elderly have less active lifestyles.
To begin with, the young people have strength more than elderly have in a average. To be specific, comparing all aspects of physical ability that metabolism, amount of muscle, flexibility, etc shows that young people have superior physical ability than the elderly. For example, a study conducted by a group of graduates students of physical education major in Korean University with two groups onsisted of young people which composed of 20~30 ages and older people which composed of 60~70. Both group members were required to measure their physical abilities around a lot of physical fields. The purpose of the study was to know the difference between two groups. The result was intriguing that the ability of the former group members were much higher than the latter group members around all aspects.
On top of that, older people tend to spend their time less active than young people because their need of physical activities are getting smaller as they old. To be specific, their physical activity declines compared with their young ages, it means they need exercise more than young people. By exercising hard for the elderly, they can make the equality of health with young people. For instance, I will take my personal experience to make my point. My grandfather, his friend and my father are good example of this. My grandfather always exercise more than two hours a day and he rarely catch a cold because of his regular exercise habit. In contrast, my grandfather's friend do not exercise often because he is not like sweating. I found that he always catch a cold in every winter and looks more older than my grandfather. Another comparison of my uncle is good example. My uncle rarely exercise because he belives that a person who is health like him has no need to exercise regularly because of his young age. After visiting a hostipal, my family knew that my uncle's physical age is same with my grandfather's.
To sum up, old people should exercise regularly because they can prevent from a fall and bone fractures by exercising and they need more exercise because they usually have less physical chance.
In this regards, I firmly belive that the elderly need exercise more than youngpeople do.
