▶ Your Answer :
There are many things that can be obtained
in schools other than academic achievements. School is not only for studying.
Rather, it assumes the charge of socialization and holistic education for young
members of our society. Some people may argue that there are benefits to attending
separate schools. However, I oppose to this idea for several reasons. First
of all, attending separate schools impede the children from obtaining necessary
social skills. A child must learn to communicate with other children of both
sex and to socialize with them. Otherwise, it would be hard for him or her to
mingle with people of opposite sex even when he or she becomes an adult. And having
a defect in sociability can be a huge obstacle for anyone living in a world of both
man and woman. In my opinion, schools should be a carefully engineered society
where students can prepare and practice living before they enter the real
society. When they grow up, they will have to stand up on their own and support
themselves. Therefore, schools should prepare them with the right social skills
to communicate with people adeptly. Schools of separate sex cannot provide
students with these abilities since they can only give opportunities of mingling
with people of the same sex. Secondly,
attending communal school boost the academic achievements of the students. It
may sound far-fetched to say that the overall grades of communal schools
largely exceed those of separate schools. However, it turned out to be true. Attending
communal schools enables students to compete with students of both sexes. And through
this environment, students can obtain impetus in their study. Biologically
speaking, there are areas where male students excel at and vice versa. For
example, male students generally are good at math while female students outrun
in literary areas. In separate schools, students only compete in same sex, which
means that all the competitors have similar strengths and weaknesses. However,
in communal school, students fight for grades without the demarcation of sex. Naturally,
female students will exert themselves to achieve higher grades in math while
male students endeavor to do well on literatures. This academic competition
will allow both male and female students to enhance their weak points in
studying. In
conclusion, attending communal schools provides bigger benefits than attending
separate schools. First of all, students can accomplish bigger networking
skills. Secondly, students can be provided with a more productive academic
environment. For these reasons, I believe that attending communal school is better.
