Some people think that universities should spend as much money on sports as they do on libraries. However, in my opinion, colleges should spend more money on libraries than they do on athletics. This is because universities are place for academics and libraries have many functions for students. To begin with, the most important purpose of colleges is academic achievement of students. In fact, students use libraries most frequently while they study. Libraries are the places where students are able to find many information what they want. For example, my college library is smaller than any other college, as a result it has less books to read. It is very uncomfortable for students because we should go to other college libraries to seek for materials that we want. This makes students to waste their time searching for other libraries that has data which students need. It’s time-consuming to find libraries and also physically go to the libraries which are not so near by our own college. This does not help students to make a research even though it is the main purpose of universities. On top of that, students use libraries for various reasons. There are many types of places in libraries including book sections, study rooms, computer rooms, etc. For instance, when my friends and I are in school, we go to the library almost every day because it is possible for us to do many activities in the library. We are able to find data that we need in book section as I mentioned above. Besides, we can also make a reservation of study room to study together. It allows us not only to study together physically, but also to make a discussion in voice because there are many individual rooms. Every function of the library helps us studying in diverse methods. To sum up, assisting academic achievements of students is the main role of universities and students use libraries for many reasons. In this regard, universities should put more efforts on making better libraries than sports clubs. 340자 |
