Some people think that the news media is a source of unbiased information that we can trust. However, in my opinion, the news media is not a definite source that gives us accurate information. This is because journalists write news journals depend on their own perspectives, and there are many news reports that does not check whether the data is fact or not. To begin with, all news reports implies the writer’s point of view about the incident. The role of news media does not end up delivering information about issues around the world. Journalists always emphasize their opinion throughout the news. For example, there are various presses in Korea which have different perspective about the issues. Even though each press uses the same issue to make a newspaper, they all contains different point of view because they emphasize different part of the issue to voice their thoughts. Those point of view can affect readers because journalists would write their opinion as if it is the fact. On top of that, not all news medias delivers the fact after they check if it is true or not. Especially the Internet news often contains wrong information about certain issues. As the importance of how many people read the news gets bigger, it makes attractive headlines that can attract readers to click the news, rather than make an effort to deliver acute information. For instance, I have an experience reading a news report about certain celebrity which was not true. Before long, the press edited the information, however nobody was interested in it because the issue had changed quickly. Even though the fact that the news delivered was not true, the celebrity could not make up his reputation because the wrong information was already became a big issue towards people. To sum up, journalists write news reports using their own opinion and there is a possibility that news contains wrong information. In this regard, I strongly believe that news media not always delivers correct information to readers. 335자 |
