▶ Your Answer :A lot of people may argue that getting advice
from friends is the best way to deal with their problems. However, on the
contrary to this belief, I am convinced that it is better to gain information
from older people than friends. The reason is that older people is more reliable
than peers and giving advice to peers can offend their feelings.
Firstly,
older people are trustworthy. since they live longer than friends, they experienced
many things. I believe experience is one of the most essential factors in
dealing with problems in this world. This cannot be gained in short periods. Thus,
older people can give helpful advice for you. This is illustrated my personal
example. When I was in high school , I did not know what major should I choose
in the future. Therefore, I went around to gain advice from my colleagues. However
, they could not help me because they were in same situation with me. Hence, I went
to my father since he had much experience. Then he offered me to select economics
since it is practical in gaining jobs. Then I chose economics, and I am satisfied
with that advice now. This experience illustrates that older people are reliable
due to much experience.
Second , giving advice to friends can hurt
each others feeling. Let me give you a personal example. When I was in college,
I had friends who had poor academic performance. Thus, my friends asked me to
give advice that can help him. However, this made him become distant with me. This
is because I had superiority over him. Hence , it was exposed during giving him
advice. In this regard, sharing advice between friends is not that practical
way.
To sum up, older people has reliable
experience and your relationship can be broken by giving advice. In this
regard, it is beneficial for you to gain advice from older people. |
