▶ Your Answer : Some
people think it is better for universities to invest in social activities
rather than in their cafeteria. However in my opinion, I believe that it is
more beneficial to support the quality of school food and facilities because
students need more nutritious food at a relatively affordable price and social
activities can be covered by information through the internet.
To
begin with, college students need nutritious energy at a low price. The majority
of students have much concerns regarding their financial problems since they
have no regular income. This aspect leads them with limited choices in their
selection of food and as a result, most college students are mainly serving
fast and instant food that are relatively cheap as their main diet. In my case,
I still remember how difficult it was for me during my college years. I could
only afford a cup of fried noodles and a biscuit for one day. Therefore, if colleges
invest more into their cafeterias, whether it is food quality or the facility,
it will definitely help students that are having trouble with their budget
because the school cafeteria is normally much cheaper than restaurants that are
off-campus. Plus, they can receive this much more nutritious campus life at a relatively
low price.
On
top of that, most of the students today can cover social activity information through
the internet. There are many institutions that are offering college students for
an internship in their companies and most of the information can easily be received
through their homepage. For instance, if I want to experience how the UNHCR
works, I go into its homepage, see a local branch in the country I am currently
living in and then simply apply under its terms. As a matter of fact, it is
impossible for universities to cover such a variety of social activities for
its students while it is more effective for the student to obtain the specific
information by him or herself. It is rather more practical for universities to support
their students’ daily diet in order for them to be refreshed and make better
progress by themselves.
To
sum up, students need more nutritious food at a more affordable price and
social activities can be cover through the internet. In this regard, I believe
that it is more reasonable for the universities to invest in their cafeteria rather
than social activities. |
