It is of great worth to discuss whether compared to when our grandparents were young, life is more comfortable and easier these days. The answer to this problem varies greatly depending on people's perspective. However, I firmly agree with this statement. I'll give two reasons to support my argument.
To begin with, there are significant amounts of resources in our country. With lots of efforts of our progenitor, South Korea has developed by the level of international powerful country in terms of economy for a short time. That means, there are already many international firm and high-quality resources. This factors can make us relieve the worries about the enduring life with the proviso that we strive to do whatever we want and improve our life quality. There was a survey conducted by professors majoring in History at Korea University, with lots of historic information. The purpose of the study was to figure out how much change that Korea has experienced for 50 years. They gathered many resources and pored over those materials. What they found was extremely intriguing. Almost all index of economy has strikingly surged by 40 %. The long of short of this result was that people's daily life in South Korea is totally changed toward possitive direction.
On top of that, there are low possibilities that we are going to experience any war. To be specific, the generation of our grandparents had undergone severe Korea War for 3 years. numerously innocent people are killed by unconditional attacks of the enemy. So my grandparents also relocated to the relatively safe areas to evade any detrimental damage. And that time, Korea Government also killed many innocent citizens in the pretext of searching insidious enemy. Objectively, the people of that time were exposed to many hideous circumstances. I'll take my personal experience as an example to clarify what I mean. Last year, I had an opportunity for listening to my grandparent's experience during the Korea War. The age of my grandparents was just 10 years old. They went through many hazardous situations. They were always starved to death and even my grandfather's brother was died by extreme cold. But, actually, the life of my 10 years old was totally safe life. I could play games with my friends and could eat any delicious food that I want to have. So, It was as if the grandparents had lived in the other country about a few hundred years ago.
Taking having lots of opportunity and resources and the fact that there isn't any dangerous situation like war and into consideration, I strongly hold to my tenet that our life is more comfortable and easier than that of our grandparents. |
