It is important to discuss on whether university student should have to take the basic sciences or not. Some people think that taking fundamental science class is not essential for them who are not pertinent to the class. However, in my opinion, university students should have to take basic science by providing following reasons.
First of all, taking rudimental science classes can help students broaden their perspective. This is attributable to the fact that every applied lecture is derived from basic sciences and related to these. That is, listening physics, chemistry and mathematics can expose them to fundamental thought and creative ideas that they can apply to applied courses. As a result, students can take a quantum leap in intellectual growth and abilities to solve problems in exam. For example, economics was originated from the mathematics and physics. A recent educational study conducted by a research group at Korea University compared two group students major in economic. One group, called A, took physics and mathematics but another group, called B, did not take the basics. Students of A group were more likely to get high scores than those of B group. Especially, a lot of students who took math and physics occupied at top. This indicates that Taking basics sciences is effective way for students to think more creative and to get higher score in university.
In addition, taking basics can improve adequate qualities for the future career. This is due to the fact that taking the class is more challenge than other subjects. That is as modern society have become more and more specialized and complexed, today’ companies are looking for challenging employees. For example, one of my uncles, works as a personnel manager in Samsung Electronics, always asserts that Most of applicants just consider GPA or academic performances by taking easy class as major factors and try to make emphasis on these factors. However, lots of interviewers were more likely to consider what they take than GPA and preferred to candidates taking basic courses. This demonstrates that listening the basics will be a sure way for students to prepare for the future job.
