▶ Your Answer :
Classes which consist with discussion between the professor and students and classes which include almost professor's lecture each have their own advantages and disadvantages. If I had to choose one, I would prefer classes with discussions to classes with a lot of lectures for two subsequent reasons.
To begin with, debates in classes help students develop their intellecture abilities. Students need to research a lot of materials for preperation of discussion. In addition, they can face another way of thinking by discussing with others. These processes stimulate students' intellegence. For example, I took the political science class in my university, in which the professor made students discuss divided in two groups. At that time, I read a lot of articles, thesis and books about the subjects. And the cut and thrust of debates in the class and the variable assetions of classmates made me consider constantly whether the way I thought was logical. As a result, after the semester I took that class, I could have a lot of knowledge about various polical subjects and became open-minded person. This example demonstates how valuable the discussion in classes can be. On top of that, discussion in the classes make students improve their communication skills necessary to work well in groups. Students can learn how to communicate effectively through debates, It leads for them to use this skill to excel in their future career. The experience of my older brother shows that this is true. He was introverted and did not enjoy communicating or working with others. However, he had to participate in debates and presentations of classes in his university majors business. After his course for 4 years, he became a very confident communicator and has been recognized as a natural leader in his company. Without the discussion in classes with the professors and classmates, he would not have develope his communication skills necessary to succeed in his career.
In couclusion, I claims with confidence that the classes with discussion among professor and students is preferable to those without it for two reasons I mentioned above. All things considered, the significance of discussion in classes never has to be underestimated. |
