▶ Your Answer : Recently, it is really difficult to see people who don't attend university. That means that people think a university as an important thing in their lives. There are many reasons for going to university. In my opinion, by attending college and studying, people can get a job and in the atmosphere of Korean society, graduating from university is thought to be important. To begin with, in South Korea, where I was born in, there is still a tradition that entering the university is a way to one's success. The perspecitve that university will solve any problem for the future leads people to attend a college. In fact, in South Korea, it is really hard to get a job without diplomas. One of my friends, named Minsu, is good at arts. After he graduated from the high school, he decided not to attend college because he thought that he could not learn real art in university. Instead of it, he studied art by himself and was preparing art exhibition. However, the problem was that none of people were interested in his paintings. The reason for this is that he didn't have any diplomas. It is indicative of the atmosphere of society that focuses on college.
Secondly, in reality, people usually get a job that is related to their major. What I want to say is that in university, people can learn practical things which is helpful for their job. In my case, I studied trade. After graduating from school, I applied to trade company and was able to work there. Even though studying one's major is really boring and it is like it is not meaningful but sometimes, there is a good opportunity to get a job that pays well. As a result, people decide to attend college.
It matters why people attend college. As I said earlier, there are two reasons to attend university. One is that the atmosphere of a society leads people to college. The other is that by studying one's major, people could get an opportunity to a decent job.
