Some
people believe that experts who are hired by the universities should decide for
campus. However, I think that students should participate in this decision
making. It is better for both students and the university for following two
reasons.
To begin
with, when students plan their campus lives, they would be more satisfied with condition of
the university and could have responsibility for their choices. Students are
real users in the university. It makes sense that users make their environment.
For example, my high school kept a library open until 7pm. Thus, the students
of my high schools should go back to their home having unfinished homework when
the library closed. It negatively affected grades of the students. When the
president of students asked the school to extent the opening hour of library,
the school accepted. Therefore, we should study harder in the library, and
could make better grades.
On top of that,
decisions from students would benefit universities. When students feel
comfortable for facilities that they choose, they will utilize that more and
the university can have extra profits. Also, universities are able to reduce
their responsibilities for results of changing. To explain, my university conducted
a survey to students for changing cafeteria menus. When new snacks started
selling, everyone wanted to go to the cafeteria. This is because that the menus totally suited students' taste.
Thus, the cafeteria could earn sizable income. The university used these profits to invest in
their faculty.
To sum up,
if students make a decision for their daily life, it will bring a lot of
advantages for both students and the university. For these reasons that I
mentioned above, I firmly believe that students should take part in making
changes for campus. |
