▶ Your Answer :
Nowadays, the advent of internet enables
people to access lots of information easily and effectively. I tend to agree
that internet provides people with a lot of valuable information. Although those who think that access to so
much information causes problems may do so for some viable reasons, still my
initial positions stands for the reasons that are hopefully more convincing.
First of all, against those who reason that
access to so much information might causes trouble, I want to raise some
objections. If people can organize and select the useful information, it does
not make any troubles. The problem occurs when the people are not capable of
dealing with much information. For instance, when I was working on my master’s
thesis, I found so much information regarding my thesis topic. I organized and
selected the useful information, and skipped the rest. Lots of information was
not detrimental, since I can get lots of information in order to deepen my
thesis. So, it is not a matter of accessing to much information, but of people
who access to the information.
Second,
internet is useful tool to spread the knowledge and information. Book and tuition
fee is too expensive, so the poor cannot get them easily. The inequality of
education is caused from the fact that information and knowledge is hard to get
for the poor, since it cost a lot. Samuel Khan, the founder of the Khan
academy, revamped the education system and introduced new methodology using internet so that the poor can get information easily. Internet
can be used to narrow the educational gap.
