▶ Your Answer :
This reading passage contends that bicycles
have much more benefits in societies more than cars can be fully explained by
three different reasons. On the other hand, the lecturer brings up several
points that contradict this argument.
First, the speaker argues that it is not
unlikely that bicycles are the cause of positive effects on the environment.
This is because only less than 1% of commuters will use bicycles from survey.
It is too physically demand, when they are on commute. This casts doubt on the
reading passage’s claim that bicycle will bring benefits of environment by
reducing pollution.
Second, according to the lecturer, bicycles
do not decrease traffic jams by building bicycle lane on the road. The reason
is that people who commute with cars are more impatient and angry when they see
the empty road for bicycles.
The final point made by lecturer is that it
does not help to decline accidents involving cars and bicycles. For example,
drivers open car doors while bicycle commuter gets into there, they obviously
get accidents. The number of accidents will be increased, thus, there is no
direct correlation as cars and cycles share the roads. This counters the
reading passage’s argument that they reduce plenty of accidents involving
commuters by cars and bicycles.
With the above reasons, a lot of city
governments close bicycles service in six months after grand opening. |
