▶ Your Answer : Some
people think that there is nothing to do with clothes and the wearer’s
behavior. However in my opinion, I believe that the clothes a person wears
affect his or her behavior. It is because the public anticipates certain
behavior from the clothes you wear and many companies regulate their uniforms
for their specially intended purpose.
To
begin with, the clothes you wear shown to the public makes the people expect
from you certain behaviors. It is because many clothes and uniforms tell us
what the people do and we begin to expect certain actions from them. For example,
I am a marine in the Marine Corps and thus I always wear my military uniform.
Sometimes, I have to take public transportations and people recognize me as a
marine. They expect me to be very strict in abiding the rules and regulations. So
I always do my best not to cross the road during red lights, not to smoke in a
smoke-free zone, always help senior citizens when they need help and so on. It is
because I am wearing my marine uniform and the people expect me to be someone
who is always following the law and being helpful.
On
top of that, many companies regulate their company uniforms in order to make
their employees work with a particular purpose. Hence, looking into the company’s
uniform regulations tell what the company intends their employees to do. For instance,
I used to work in a Japanese-curry restaurant and the most interesting thing
about this place’s uniform was that you had to wear a towel on top of your
head. This was because traditional Japanese wore towels on top of their heads. This
particular outfit gave the customers a more Japanese-atmosphere so it would
make the restaurant look more professional in the field. So you can tell that
the employer of this restaurant intended me to look more professional through
the towels that they made us wear mandatory.
To
sum up, the public expects you to behave in certain ways when you are in a particular
uniform and many companies regulate their clothes so that they can push forward
their intentions. In this regard, I believe that the clothes a person wears
affect his or her behavior. |
