▶ Your Answer : It is of great importance for all parents to educate their children in a
proper way. For this purpose, they employ a variety of methods to teach their
children. Over the course of their parenthood, they oftentimes guess what it
would be like to educate their children through video games. It appears that
most of the parents agree that it is far better to educate their young children
who are 5-8 years old with video games than other tools. I also have the same
opinion with respect to this issue, and the reasons are as follows. First and foremost, children
who are 5-8 years old are too young to study with paper-based materials. In
other words, they even do not develop their mother tongue, and studying with
books would be a big burden to them. Since books or documents lack of
entertainment factors, young children are likely to be bored when studying those
materials. Moreover, early education tool is a sine qua non of children’s future education. For
instance, when my cousin was seven years old, her parents forced her to study
mathematics with paper-based materials. However, she did not master her mother
tongue, Korean, and had difficulty understanding the basic concepts of mathematics
written in the book. As a result, she was exhausted and scared of studying math.
She was not able to grab the essential calculation and had hard time for
solving mathematical problems until graduating from elementary school. If she
had played video games for studying math, she would have understood the subject
easily and become interested in it. This example shows that allowing young
children who are 5-8 years to study with documented materials cannot help them
understand and feel interesting with studying. On top of that, young children are sensible
to visual and sound effect, and it would help them to understand academic
contents better. In fact, 5-8 years old children are sensitive to physical
stimuli. With the video games’ vivid visual and sound effects, young children
can be interested in their studying and understand the subjects better. For example,
when I was 6 years old, I often played English video games. As my parents were versed in the benefits of
educational video games, they let me play the video games. I loved playing the
games because the characters were very adorable and the winning sound effect was
hilarious. Especially, I played word matching games, and it was a big help for
me memorizing English word easily. Moreover, I mimicked the character’s
dialogue and finally could get
the hang of it. As a result, I could improve my English skill well before
entering to elementary school, and it was a significant help to my later
education. Were it not for
the video games I played in my childhood, I would have hard time speaking English. This
demonstrates that video games are effective for young children by letting them study
interestingly.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that video
games are beneficial for young children’s education. All things considered, it
is my belief that my argument regarding this issue can be precisely and
effectively delivered with the reasons mentioned above. Never should we forget
that this issue may have a significant impact on our future.
