▶ Your Answer :
Some people believe that the internet is the best tool for academic
performance. However, I disagree with their ideas. There are two reasons.
First, information in the internet can be incorrect. Second, the internet makes
people get narrow views.
First,
there are many articles or reports which are not recognized by public in the
internet and some of them are containing wrong information. Frankly, this issue
can be controversial, since the internet has a disadvantage that it has much
inaccurate information but there are also an advantage of the internet that the
amount of information is great. However, I think the disadvantage of the
internet far weigh the advantage of it. This is because, numerous but unclear
things enables student to be confused. To give an anecdote, when I was a high
school student, I always used the internet to do my school science project.
When I showed my project to my teacher, she said to me that there are too much
wrong information. Additionally, she recommended me to go to the school library
and as a result, I could correct my wrong paper using a lot of major books. I
found out that the internet is not a best way to research something which need
to accurate.
Second, People who use only the internet when
they do academic performance can have narrow views. You may think that great
amount of information in the internet will broaden people’s horizon of
knowledge. However, in fact, a searching method of the internet, typing the
words you want to find, leads you just to find knowledge about the term you
already knew. On the other hand, by using books and resources in the library,
you can learn about concepts which you have never heard before. Let’s compare
me and my friend, Tom. When we studied for physical exam in university, the lecture
materials had just some key words. Therefore, Tom decided to search the
internet to find about the key words and I decided to use some textbooks and
other resources from the library. At the end, my score was higher than Tom
because there were questions about concepts which are not related to the key
words but written in resources that I found in the library. It is an evident
that the Internet makes student study narrowly.
To sum up,
finding exact information in the internet is difficult. Moreover, the internet
stops students from getting deeper and wider knowledge. In this regard, I
firmly believe that the internet is not a best way to attain academic
knowledge. |
