▶ Your Answer :
It is questionable which is better, to
spend time with one or two close friends or with a large number of friends. I
believe the first is better. The reason why I think like this is you can build
a deep relationship with the small number of friends and it is easier to decide
what to do when hanging with the smaller group.
To
begin with, you can develop a deep relationship when you spend time with a
small number of friends. In other words, to build profound bonds with each
member in a large group is difficult than in the smaller group. For example, I
tried to meet as many people as possible and build a good friendship with them.
However, I found it tired and time spending task. It is difficult for me to
build relationships with those who are not matched with my opinion. Thus, I
decided to hang out with a small number of friends who have similar interests
and build profound friendship until these days.
On
top of that, the decision-making process is more simple and easy if you hang
out with fewer and closer friends. Fewer people means that there are smaller
options and suggestions when it comes to deciding what to do together. For
example, there is a proverb in Korea, ‘If there are many rowers on the boat,
the boat goes up to the mountain.’ This means if there are many people who
participate in decision making, its results would not be satisfying. The
smaller groups can decide what to do faster than the bigger groups.
To
sum up, hanging out with fewer friends allows you to build a deep relationship
easier and it is easier to decide what to do than to get along with a large
number of friends. It is more advantageous to the quality of relationships and
the time you have to spend if there is something to decide within a group. In
this regard, I agree with the statement that spending time with one or two
close friends is better. |
