For the human, some living animals are used to conduct research. Thanks for them, human enjoy technological advances and convenience. However, to some extent, it is not somewhat ethical for this. I will explain this by giving two aspects.
To begin with, even though animals cannot speak as human, they need protection and have the right to live as what they are. In recent experiments, to accomplish meaningful outcomes, people utilize living animals in a cruel way. Beagle, one of the species of dogs, can be a good example of this. To prove whether cosmetics are harmful to people, researchers let beagles be in an experiment. There, biggles are trapped somewhere and applied some products on their skin. In the end, they end up exhausting and some could be dead. Surely, these experiments were done as a means of the improvement of convenience for human beings. However, the way animals are used should be smooth. They are also precious organisms on the earth, and they deserve a happy life.
On top of that, it is true that human beings are more significant than animals. It means that nothing can be more handled in a precious way than the life of people. Unwillingly, people have to introduce animals to research. For example, in World War one and two, many soldiers and ordinary people were subject to cruel medical experiments. They ended up dying and suffering from severe aftereffects. This showed how human rights were discounted. In the end, in people’s needs, people started putting animals into these studies. Of course, it is not saying that animals’ lives are not valuable, but their sacrifice is needed. To some extent, there must be some equipment that protects animals.
It is very controversial whether it is ethical for the human to let animals be subjected to research. In my opinion, this is somewhat cruel. This is necessary for people’s better life though. For these reasons, I am neutral on this statement.
