▶ Your Answer :
Some people think that students are more impacted by
their teachers than by their friends, others do not. Both sides have their
reasons to support the ideas. If I were asked to choose one, I would like to
say that friends have a more significant influence on students rather than
teachers do. There are two reasons as follows.
To begin with,
for not only elementary but also college students, they form a much stronger
bond with friends than with teachers. Cosidering their similar ages, it is easy
to emphasize each other's feelings or thoughts. This would lead to a formation
of strong relationship, which can affect students' lives. For example, when my
brother, Junmin Kim, moved to a new high school where there were no friends of
him, he felt depressed thinking that his routine became boring. Although his
teacher tried to communicate with him, it did not work because he couldn't feel
any interest during conversation. However, after he made a new relationship
with new classmate by playing a baseball game and studying with them, he was
satisfied with his life. Since they shared their thoughts about new movies and
understood their words and jokes, it was easier to make a new friendship which
might strongly affect students. Withtout friends, we would have failed to enjoy
his school life.
On top of
that, friendship tends to continue after students' graduation. This long-term
relationship have a more possibility to have an effet on their lives than
another relationship with a teacher which are liable to be weakened as students
grow up. In a recent poll conducted by the National Educational Center in South
Korea, 76 percent of participants agreed that they did not stop touching with
friends after graduating from high school and college. Futhermore, 88 percent
of them said that they discontinued to contact with teachers. The supervisor of
this poll explained that the duration of the relationship can significantly
affect people's live, no matter the way is possitive or negative.
To sum up, I
believe taht students are more affected by their peers rather than teachers
with two reasons mentioned above. All in all, the importance of friendship
cannot be overestimated in live.
