▶ Your Answer :
I agree
that classmates or colleagues communicate about a project in person instead of
by e-mail, they will produce better work for the project for three reasons.
First, it is
more practical to convey your idea to others in person using motions, gestures
and etc., than any other means including e-mail; It is more than just a group
of words, when you tell something to others in person. For example, when you
would like to put some pictures into the team report and ask what others think
about it, it would be easier to explain them by pointing out with your fingers
or highlighting with your pens. Otherwise, you might have to write a long
explanation of e-mail, hoping others understand the meaning of inserting them.
Second, it could
be more efficient to make errors correct during discussion in person than by
e-mail. Making a team report requires fierce discussions, especially when the
report deals with hot issues, to check out each other’s opinions and to reach
the same conclusion. If you can only communicate with others by e-mail, the
process of discussion would be inefficient, in that no one can indicate errors
of your opinion in the first place, and the whole contents of the e-mail might
become obsolete.
Third,
someone might say communicating in person cause inefficiency in time, but if
the classmates prepare enough to make discussions deep and sound before they
meet up, the chance would be low, the team needs another meeting later.
Those reasons
mentioned above are why I think discussing in person is better than by e-mail,
when it comes to doing team projects.
