There can be some people who argue that cars have brought more impacts and shocks to our societies than airplanes. However, in my opinion, airplanes had made more astonishing or graphic events than cars. I will contend this with two subsequent reasons. First, they broke some old human conceptions, and second, they caused many vicious historical results.
To begin with, the invention of airplane was one of the most shocking events of the human history. This is because many people in earlier times shared some biased conviction that human beings cannot fly. An historical example can prove this conviction. When Wright brothers invented the first airplane, many people did not believed that event, and some people even thought that they are tricksters. In contrast, even though the invention of cars was also astonishing, it did not broke the former human conviction, because car moves only on the land. Therefore, airplanes have made relative more impact on society than cars.
Moreover, airplane have made some of the most vicious human events, and even made them more harsh. Using airplane, many wars were more frequently activated, and even occurred in some areas where any wars were not experienced, like between the islands. For example, during the second World War, Japan imperialists attacked the pearl harbor, killing many American people, and the atomic bombs were dropped by airplane to the Japan. These graphic and shocking events may not be occurred if there were only land vehicles like cars. Therefore, airplane have shocked our society more than cars.
In summary, airplanes impacted the world more heavily than cars, because they totally disrupted some former human convictions, and they have made some of the most serious historical events. In this respects, I think the airplane impact is more greater than the impact of cars. |
