▶ Your Answer :
It is difficult
to fathom what others think, but my opinion on this statement is adamant. I believe
that cars have influenced human society more than airplanes have. This is because
cars are more involved in people’s daily lives than airplanes are.
First
of all, cars have influenced human society in a positive way as cars have created
various jobs. Today, people are living in a meritocratic world where only
extremely talented ones can survive. This can be clearly reflected in the job
market. It is difficult to get a rewarding or satisfying job since there are a
lot of competitors. However, cars have dedicated to the birth of various occupations
– from the drivers of public transportation and taxi, to tons of delivery
system-related workers. A recent research conducted by a renown professor named
Mary Pitts from Cornell University explains this well. She screened the world’s
best 100 companies and found out that 75 % of the companies assessed included cars-related
services and only 20 % of the companies possessed airplanes-related services. Also,
more than half of the car-related services possessing companies are working on cars,
which includes not only driving, but also communicating with drivers, or managing
the time schedules, and related web pages, etc. This represents the substantial
effect of cars on creating job opportunities.
In
addition, cars have influenced human society as they provide convenient delivery
system. In the past, delivery services were limited to heavy things that are
hard to carry or things from really far from one’s household. Unlike the past,
however, the products available for delivery is almost unlimited. As people become
busier, they want to save time and energy used for shopping. Many people prefer
to browse online shopping mall rather than to go to the offline shopping mall. Without
cars, highly convenient delivery system would have been impossible. My personal
example can explain this well. When I was little, my house was literally in the
middle of corn fields so we always had to go to the town in order to get groceries
and any things needed. However, after cars and delivery system has been
settled, my family even order a bottle of milk from the town just by one mouse
click and they are ready to eat next morning. Although there are some products imported
from abroad, most of the items I order are delivered simply by cars. Thus, care
have influenced our society more than airplanes have done.
In
summary, I believe that the aforementioned explanations sufficiently prove that
the larger influence that cars have on human society than airplanes. Obviously,
the significance of getting jobs and the convenience of delivery system cannot
be overemphasized enough.
