▶ Your Answer : There are differing opinions on the issues that friends who have similarity are much better than who have difference. Someone say that similar character and tendency give comfort and convenience for them. My opinion, however, friends who have some different type of character and tendency based on different experiences and backgrounds, offer countless pros which outweigh cons. First of all, by having friends who are different from me is better for understanding of diversity. These days, it is common to face cultural, religious and political diversity as the development of media and globalization of world. Thus, having close friends who have different backgrounds and characters is unfathomable beneficial to live this society. To be specific, understanding of the difference gives flexible way of thinking thus people can minimize conflicts between the people and further more it gives peaceful atmosphere in the society. An example of mind, I spent my university life with different country students, it was actually school's policy to elevate globalization of students. At first time, it was hardship to live with different background friends. However, the understanding of the diversity gives me the great chance to cooperate with global company in my job. The opportunity provide me some beneficial at the workplace.
Secondly, I can have different view points when it comes to finding a solution. People who get different experience have different opinions on a problem. It will suggest great option for escape problems. For example, one of my close friend Chulsoo, he has similar character like me, thus we can share same hobby, watching the baseball game, and preference on choosing items. However he can not provide me a best solution to overcome some hardship. Last year, I had problem with my car thus I had to decide whether fix it or buy new one. I asked to him best decision for the situation and he gave the same opinion like mine, fix the car. A couple of month later I should buy a new car because the old one stopped again.
To sum up, I strongly insist that having friends who have differences gives invisible benefits than who have similarity since it gives chance of understanding of diversity and finding solution for a problem.
