▶ Your Answer : Education has been hot issue for a long time. Some people might argue that for the successful development of a country, it is more important for a government to spend money on the education of very young children than to spend money on universities because learning from an early age can contribute to successful results. Contrary to popular belief, I think that it is more reasonable for a government to invest money on universities than invest money on children to develop a country for two reasons which I will explore in the following essay.
Frist of all, prioritizing children over college students can lead to negative effects. This is due to the fact that university students prepare for getting jobs and job market is enormously critical for a country that wants to develope. If the government spends their money on university such as increasing competent professors, building a library, making relax space and so on, it can play a significant role in improving their work efficiency. They can study in convenient environment and comfortable space and this convenience can serve as one of the motivations to work better. With such motivation, they can focus on their work efficiently and better prepare themselves for their future, which is vital in improving a country. On the other hand, spending money on the education of young children who do not want to get the education can be time-consuming. It is especially important for children to get desire to learn and if they do not have learning desire, you can say that investing money on children is useless. My personal story can be illustrated to prove this point. When I was at the age of six, my parents wanted me to speak English fluently, so they had me get much English education. However, because I was not interested in learning English, the education I got went to a waste. This shows that It is more effective way for the government to spend money for university students, not children since university students can get motivation to study hard in order to get good jobs in their future. In addition, spending money on very young children can result in increased stress. This is attributed to the fact that if the government invests money for young children, their surrounding people tend to expect them to produce good outcome and this make children feel pressured and they are likely to be competitive. Under the high pressure, they can be not considerate to each other. However, because excellent personality can lead to successful development of a country, being person who is competitive and not considerate to others might bring about unexpected results. According to a Ministry of Education of korea in 2009, there was a huge difference between two groups of students in personality. Students in Group A received a lot of education when they were very young thanks to parents and a government and those in Group B did not. The researchers found that the former group are more likely to hurt other people because of their selfish and egoistic personality that was formed by under high academic-pressure of adults, even though they were receiced much education. This implies that getting supports from government from an early age can cause negative results.
In conclusion, as I mentioned above, i firmly believe that for the successful development of a country, it is more important for a government to spend money on universities than to spend money on the education of very young children. All in all, an adverse effect of early education cannot be underestimated in life. Also, people should know that for developting a country, investing for young people is effective way.
