▶ Your Answer : Education has been a hot issue for a very long time. A large number of people might argue that due to highly busy lives, they became indifferent to children's education compared to the past. Contrary to popular belief, I firmly believe that parents today are more involved in their children's education than were parents in the past for two reasons which I will explore in the following essay.
First of all, thanks to developed technology, especially the Internet, people should admit that their lives became more convenient than the past. When technology was underdeveloped, people had to spend tremendous amounts of time and effort finding information. However, as technology is coming closer and closer towards the cutting edge, they started to get a tons of information they needed with a one mouth click. This explains why today's parents are trying to involve children's education. They can get information mostly related to education easily, which allows them to be knowledgeable about education so parents today tend to take part in teaching children. However, past parents were so ignorant that they even did not think of involving in their children's teaching and only depended on schools. When I was young, my parents usually taught me how to study efficiently and how to focus on studying fast by searching on the Internet. Therefore, I was able to be informed in regard to education from an early age. This implies that it is easier to find information about education than the past, so parents tend to relate to children's education nowadays.
In addition, in the past, people did not have much interest about teaching their children and making children enter high-level schools. This is attributed to a fact that parents did not have enough time to get interested in their children's education because they were very busy farming. Also, their children tend to take over the farming or their business, they did not consider studying hard as keys to success. On the other hand, we are living in a world of meritocracy where only extremely talented ones can survive and parents started to care about children's education to allow child to get good jobs. My grandmother can be illustrated to prove this point. when she was young, her parents did not want her to enter a university since they thought university was useless and she had to take over their farming land. Thus, she has never taken a proper education as well as her friends. This shows that in the past, education was not considered importantly as today.
In conclusion, as I mentioned above, I firmly agree with the question. All in all, the importance of today's education cannot be underestimated in life. |
