Personally, I have experienced living in both cities and rural areas when I was a child, so I am highly aware of the differences. Some people believe that having children grow up in rural areas is better for them. However, I strongly claim that it is more advantageous for children to grow up in big cities than rural areas. There are two main reasons for my opinion.
To begin with, children who live in cities can gain more opportunities than those who don’t. Big cities include a diversity of educational services, such as various types of schools, well established daycare systems, and more. On the other hand, children in rural areas do not have enough options to choose from. Not only in the educational perspective, but big cities can provide higher quality medical services and dietary options for children than that of rural places. For example, most big hospitals and pharmacies are located in cities, and usually cities have more various types of restaurants. In short, children should be raised in cities because they will have a broader range of service and convenience options to choose from.
Moreover, cities are safer for children when compared to rural areas. Big cities possess credible security systems, which include police officers keeping watch, security cameras, and efficient doorlock systems, whereas rural areas seldom have those sort of features. Children are especially vulnerable to dangers of kidnapping due to their young age. Without a proper security system, they would get more vulnerable to those kind of crimes. Therefore, it is important to have children grow up in large cities in order to ensure their safety.
To sum up, big cities provide children with various types of services and opportunities and are much safer than rural areas. In this regard, I suggest that it is more advantageous for children to grow up in big cities than in rural areas.
