▶ Your Answer : Today, society is so competitive that studying hard is of great importance. Many people think about how to develop themselves effectively. To be successful, which will be better for them? I believe that specializing in one specific subject is better than having broad knowledge of many academic subjects for two subsequent reasons. First, specializing in one specific subject is better to get a job. Second, people can be less stressful.
To begin with, to concentrate on one specific field is better when it comes to getting a job. By focusing on one subject, people can be an expert of a specific field. But if people study a wide range of subjects, it will be hard to be an expert. According to a survey done by Job Consulting Center, more than 70% of experts answered that they studied one specific subject. They stated that the faster finding what to concentrate on, the faster can be an expert. Developing their specific skills was the key of their success. If it were not for specialization, they would not have been a successful expert.
On top of that, if people concentrate on one specific subject, they will be less stressed. People who specialize in what they are good at have satisfaction with their lives. If people have broad knowledge of many academic subjects, it is so stressful because they are good at some subjects but also bad at some fields. Let me bring up my personal story as an example. When I was in middle school, I was so stressed out because I hated study mathematics but I had interest on the art. I decided to concentrate on art and design and it made a huge change in my life. I was pessimistic before I decided but I became a positive person due to specialization in my favorite subject. I didn’t have any stress and even become healthier than before. It clearly shows that people can be less stressed and be happy when they specialize in a subject that they are interested in.
In conclusion, specialization is not only good for getting a job but also not being stressed out rather being happy. In this regard, I believe that to focus on one subject is better than to study many subjects. |
