▶ Your Answer : Some people think that mobile phones have made people freer. However, in my opinion, they have never brought about freedom. This is because people could be monitored through phones, and sometimes they could be in danger of being swindled by phones. To begin with, when using a phone, people are more likely to be controlled by someone due to some of its functions. Some boys are monitored by their girlfriends while chatting in real time. Furthermore, boys particularly who date with demanding girls should report their location by GPS system. There was a poll conducted by Seoul National University with university students who are in romantic relationships as respondents. The purpose of the survey was to understand the consensus view of being controlled while chatting with their boyfriends or girlfriends. An overwhelming 78% of respondents responded that they have a lot of pressure to be monitored. This is because they should notify what they do and where they are. On top of that, There can be a risk of fraud by phones, which can limit freedom. The incidence of fraud has been continuously increased since most people had their own mobile phones. In particular, teenagers, who use cellular phones most frequently, are in great danger. For example, in my teens, one of my classmates was crammed. Once he bought a mobile game, his private information was leaked through his phone. As a result, he went to the police station to solve the problem. Since then, all of the students in my class stopped using phones for a long time. This experience proved to me that our freedom can be limited by mobile phones. In a nutshell, mobile phones can make people monitored and more susceptible to fraud. In this regard, I disagree that people have gained freedom by using cellular phones. |
