Libraries have become an old tradition, but some people do not accept this. I also agree with the decreased value of libraries. In this essay, I will discuss the two different opinions with my own.
Today, it might still be important to have open libraries. For some people, the library is not just a place in which they can sit down and read. They visit there because they can spend time in the most enjoyable way to solve questions regarding life questions. Especially young children will be able to fulfill their curiosity while discovering around at the library. Sometimes old libraries plays the same role as playgrounds in their hometown, and the place and the time spent there will be irreplaceable.
However, most libraries are not welcomed anymore because the public does not go to the library to read books. As emerging technologies make it possible for them to do the exact same thing while at home, where they are has become unimportant. Now they can read what they want elsewhere. What they need are internet Internet connections and portable mobile devices, not the library. It will absolutely be better because it can contain more number of books and data than any public libraries might have.
In conclusion, I agree that public libraries today are not much popular and important compared to the past. Technologies can provide the equal quality of books online, and what the libraries have is no longer modern. |
