My name is Diane C. I live in Michigan and went to the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I was always interested in going to law school and now it has become my major goal. I started taking LSAT classes in Korea during the summer, and have intensely studied for the past 2 months. I am planning on taking the December test and if that does not work out as planned I will also take the June test and apply to school accordingly. My recent prep test scores have been around 167-168 with a few random 170s. |

2. 자신만의 하루 시간활용법과 학습법은?
|
I usually try to wake up early and I would usually go to the library and study for 6-7 hours a day. Within that time, I first began to take practice tests untimed. I bought the real LSAT books and did all three sets which consist of 30 tests total. Through doing those tests my score has increased close to 10 points. After a month of studying I started doing timed tests and I am now just trying to work on those areas I am weak at. |

I really liked the Hacker's LSAT experience. It was basically my first, real introduction to the LSAT and its concepts. I learned the different skills to approach the different question types and I really found the teacher's advice on law school in general very helpful as well. Also the study materials (workbooks) were very useful; especially the logical reasoning books because the various question types were grouped together. |
In addition, I felt the teacher was very accessible with his time and he was always open to talking to his students about law school and the LSAT. I have recently taken one course this month by the Power Score Company and was very disappointed. They basically taught everything I already learned at Hackers and in a less thorough manner. But once again, I think the best part of the Hacker's LSAT class was my teacher. He taught the material in a very energetic, understandable, and fun way. |

For logical reasoning, I went through the Hacker's workbook and then I just did practice tests. I tried to focus on those question types that I was still struggling on.
In reading comprehension, I just did practice tests. Regarding logic games, I, of course, did practice tests, but I also did the Hacker's workbook and read through the Atlas and Powerscore Logic Game books. Those two books were very similar and I used them |
as a review more than a learning tool. I also photocopied the games I already did on the practice tests so I could do them again at other time. |

5. 영어로 진행되는 수업의 장점은 무엇인지요? |
I thought it was great that the classes were taught in English. Although, I am fluent in Korean, I found it so much easier to reason through the questions and also just talk about the test materials in English. Also it just seems to make a lot of sense that these classes be taught in English. The LSAT is a test given in English for ABA approved law schools. I feel anyone who wants to take this exam should be ready to argue and think through problems in the language in which they will have to study. Moreover, the LSAT is a difficult test where minute differences in words make all of the difference. Speaking and thinking in English is most likely the first step to catching these small differences and improving one's score.

6. LSAT 초보자들을 위해 조언을 해준다면?
|
I guess I would like to tell people just starting out on the LSAT that this is a really hard, difficult test. The difficulty of LSAT can be different among students. But the more I studied for the test the more unprepared I felt. There were times I thought I was improving, but then I would fall back to my old, low scores. It is a test of intense focus, concentration and I respect anyone who follows through, works hard, and takes on the challenge that the LSAT undeniably offers. I think every prep test that I took offered a new hurdle that I had to jump over and it just blows my mind, the intricate level in which these test makers have developed and mastered this test. |
 |
Without preparation, LSAT will be the most difficult test that you will ever experience in your entire life. I want other students to know that without the work put into studying the LSAT, it will kick your ass. |

7. 스터디를 진행함으로써 얻을 수 있는 장점이 있다면 무엇인가요? |
Studying has made me used to the test and its different sections. After studying, I felt the time constraints weren't really that bad. In terms of games and the reading section, I think practice makes the perfect result. The more effort you put, better result will honor you in future. I can't imagine just going into this test blind. The more you study the better you do or at least your score will be better than the first time. |
