Some
people may prefer to live in a small town. However I would like to live in a
big city, such as New York and Seoul. There are numerous reasons why I want to
live in a big city. Among them are the
difference in opportunities and saving the countryside
for vacation.
To begin with, the bigger a city is, the more
opportunities exist. Google, Apple, Samsung, and other global conglomerates
have one thing in common. Their headquarters are located in big cities. This is
because that there are more business opportunities in metropolises than small
country towns. According to a research report
conducted by the UN statistics department in
2016, the numbers of enterprises in each city around the world has have a strong positive correlation with city’s
population. Even rural based startups move to big cities when they need to hire
talented people to expand the business. This result shows that there are more
chances for individuals to get a fine job in metropolises. Furthermore, this
trend appears not only in the job market, but
also in cultural experience and in the education
field, making opportunity chasm between urban cities and rural towns wider. (매우 좋습니다.)
On top of that, a small towns should be left for refreshing. Big cities are busy,
congested, and volatile. Everything changes very fast quickly in big cities and residents need to adapt on
this circumstance. This hectic atmosphere makes people easily exhausted and they
need a place to take a rest somewhere new,
tropical, fresh, and unfamiliar with. The countryside
is one of the best options to choose for tired people. But if we live in
outskirts, a vast grass field or a crystal green
sea is just a daily scenery, therefore there is nothing new to recharge our
energy. For example, my friend Tom, who lives in
a small town, visited Seoul, the capital of South Korea,
for a summer vacation. At first, he was excited to see skyscrapers and lots of
cars. But soon he got disappointed by busyness of the city and went back to his
town earlier than planned. On the other hand, I enjoyed my time in Gangwon, which where is famous for astonishing mountains
and beautiful sea views. This obvious contrast shows that a rural town should
be kept for a as a resting place.
To sum up, more opportunities provided by the size of the metropolises and keeping a the countryside for the
last paradise (어울리지 않는 표현입니다) clearly show my opinion on the given matter. In this
regards, I prefer to live in a big city.
