Some people think that when people are young, they should carefully make careful future plans to prepare for a good future, while others do not.
Both sides may have their own reasons to support their views. If I had to
choose one, I would say that it is better that people make thoughtful future planning
plans in their teenage years.
To begin with, when young people design the future, it will help
them to improve their academic performance which is the key to success in their future career. Careful designing of the future requires them to be diligent,
passionate, and self-disciplined to stick to
their plan. When these personal traits are developed, it is likely to bring a
better result in school. For example, Seoul National University found that
there was a huge difference between two groups
of high school students in academic performance. One group consisted of those
who planned carefully about their future, and the other group was made up of
those who do did not design their
future and just study (안 넣어주시는 게 더 자연스러워요.). The researchers found that the former was more likely to
have a higher score on the SAT than the latter. In particular, the first group
showed a longer attention span, a stronger
passion in their tasks, and a better ability to delay gratification. On the
other hand, the second group tended to get distracted easily, procrastinate,
and act on impulse. This implies that having a careful plan is the key to success, academically as well as
professionally. Without it, one would fall behind.
In addition, Personal traits established from an early age are
difficult to change, as the saying goes, “Old
habits die hard.” When people have good personal traits, it is likely to bring
a better result in their lives. For instance, my friends who succeeded in their
carrier careers always made detailed plans and stick stuck to
them from their school life. They used study planners
and frequently checked their schedule. After all, they entered their first-choice university that their
first-choice and majored what they wanted to study.
All things
considered, I strongly believe that making careful plans
in youth is the best way to get future success for the reasons I have mentioned
above.
