It is often said that children should play sports activities not for competitive but for fun. However, in my opinion, it is more beneficial for children to play sports for competition for two reasons: it plays a significant role in getting a job easily when they became twenties and competitive activities allow younger people to have responsibility which is key to live a modern society.
To begin with. sports and athletics activities for competition are beneficial to children for their future success. This is mainly because, as modern society are increasingly becoming globalized, specialized and especially highly competitive
today's job market requires yonger people with sense of competition. Thus children should spend much time raising competitive spirit. According to the research conducted by the Seoul National University of korean in 2015, children who play sports game with friends for competition
have an enormous advantage over who do not. This is largely because most countries are increasingly moving toward economies which are based on competitive society. Also, the researcher pointed out that the number of employment opportunities available to children who do not have competitive mind will continue to decrease precipitously. This point implies that people should focus on the competitive mentality since they were little.
On top of that, competitive activities make children responsible. This due to the fact that playing sports with others requires a lot of responsibilities such as arriving on time, observing regulations, meeting deadlines, thoroughly completing assignments and knowing what is fair-play. A study done by the Gallup Organization, children who play sports with competition do better academically that their peers who do not this is because they know how to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities, consequently can manage their time wisely. On the whole, little kids who like competitive sports are more mature and better equipped to succeed than their peers. Thus, this research implies that competence of doing sports competitively is a important factors to live their life.
To sum up, competitive activities have a positive effect on children by helping them getting a job in the future and getting them to have sense of responsibilities.
In this regard, I strongly disagree with the idea that playing sports for fun are better than for competitive.
